Summer will be here in less than a month. If you have children, then you may be on the lookout for fun and simple activities for them to do at home. It’s important that they are creative AND affordable. There are so many activities to do. But why spend a lot of money when you can do cost-effective activities at home and teach your kids how to be responsible at the same time. Check out four ideas below!
1. PLANT FLOWERS.
Take a trip to Home Depot or another similar store and purchase some flowers, soil, and a flower pot. You can get flowers for as cheap as $1.99. The kids will love planting flowers inside their own pots and they will feel like they’ve accomplished something. For a bonus activity, why not have them paint the flower pot?
2. BAKE CUPCAKES.
Most children love desserts! Mine especially do, and whenever I bake them, they always want to participate. Something as simple as baking cupcakes will definitely excite them. Give your child a particular role. They could measure the amount of ingredients; stir the mixture; pour the batter in the cupcake pans; and / or help decorate after the cupcakes have cooled off.
3. PLAY A SPORT.
My son loves to play basketball with his dad. When he comes home from school that’s all he wants to do. Whenever other family members swing by, all the children run out to our backyard and grab the basketball and hoop. What’s your child’s favorite sport?
4. HOST A PHOTO SHOOT.
I think because my children see me taking so many photos they want their picture taken all the time. They don’t shy away from the camera. How about doing a mini photo shoot with your little ones? All you need is your cellular phone. Have them dress up or dress them up in their favorite costumes and snap those pics! They will have a good time and will be excited to see what was captured on your camera. For a bonus activity, you could have the photo printed and send to their favorite relative with their autograph.
Let me know what activities you would add to the list. Leave a comment below or tweet me at @BoriquaChicks.
