Describe the work that you do…
Currently, I am a full time F & B Manager in NYC and a parallelpreneur (work a 9-5 + entrepreneur) Mom who is the Founder and Chef/Owner of CHICpeas, Inc.
Why is the work important?
Food has been a focal point in my life. I chose a field that has taken me to some of the most amazing places to eat, live and experience life. I want to create that possibility for other kids from the Bronx, through the work I do with my company. It is my intention to open the conversation about race, community and Whole living through food-centered programs, classes and events.

Why are you a proud Puerto Rican?
My grandmother, who hails from Ponce, made sure to instill pride for the Puerto Rican culture that is our legacy and a history of educated educators, writers, politicians, lawyers and judges that make up our family. She was a college graduate (born 1911) and the first woman accepted into the school of law at the University. The rich history and diversity of the Island courses through my blood and that brings me overwhelming joy!
