Describe the work that you do…
I’m a stand-up comedian, I look for approval from strangers for a living by making them laugh.
Why is the work important?
I consider stand-up comedy to be important because it can serve as a distraction from an everyday struggle to audiences or it can also let people know they are not alone. As a Puerto Rican, it’s important so the next generation can see someone who grew up just like them was able to do it, so why not them. With work and a little luck, a dream can be achieved.
Why are you a proud Puerto Rican?
Many times being from the tiny island of Puerto Rico you are seen as the U.S.’s unwanted stepchild, felt like an afterthought. That never stopped those before me. The resilience of people like Luis A. Ferré and Roberto Clemente to Sonia Sotomayor and Rene Perez aka Residente among others is what makes me proud to be Puerto Rican. Coqui

Right now the two songs alternating in my queue are Bruno Mars’ Chunky and Ozuna’s Ahora Dice.
