In this interview I speak with multidisciplinary artist E L Z A. I recently began purchasing her unique earrings and have become a huge fan of her work. Her designs are beautiful and one of a kind. She creates her pieces with “mucho amor (much love) and peace of mind so they carry that energia (energy).”

How do you identify?
I identify as a creative professional, Jaguar mujer (woman) of Mexican descent, with deep roots guided by my ancestors.
Please tell us about yourself and your creative pursuits.
I am a multidisciplinary artist, instructor, mentor and designer inspiring through the arts. My works are influenced through the combination of knowing self, connecting and understanding different cultures, sub-cultures and ancestral guidance. Currently, I reside in the Pomona Arts Colony, where my work and live space serves as a sacred creative studio/gallery space, the Kreative Spot. I aspire to grow Seeds of Kolor, a non-profit organization, dedicated to inspire underserved communities through the arts locally and internationally.

Where do you find your inspiration?
I find inspiration when I re-connect with my roots through mediation and reflection on a day-to-day basis. Purpose and success is what I live by.
What piece of advice/ encouragement would you give to aspiring Latinx creative entrepreneurs?
A powerful being once shared these words with me, “Don’t’ let what you don’t have, stop you from getting what you want.”
Learn how to seek within and trust self.
Every day you rise, give thanks and continue to invest in your passion.
Whatever you do, do it with purpose and maintain a daily discipline towards your goal/s.
